Once upon a time, in a curious town called Brightville, there lived a young girl named Sara. She loved asking questions about the world around her. One evening, while watching the sunset, she wondered, “What is light, and how does it travel?”
That night, Sara dreamed of meeting a magical guide named Lumi, a tiny glowing fairy made of light.
“Come with me,” said Lumi. “Let’s explore the secret nature of light!”
First, Lumi took Sara to the Ocean of Waves. There, she saw giant waves moving across the water.
“For many years,” Lumi explained, “scientists believed light behaved like a wave. Just like these ocean waves, light can spread out, bend around corners, and create colorful patterns.”
Sara watched as rainbow colors appeared in the sky.
“That’s amazing!” she said.
Next, Lumi led her to the Valley of Particles. Tiny sparkling dots zipped through the air like magical fireflies.
“These are called photons,” said Lumi. “They show that light can also behave like particles. Each photon carries energy and travels incredibly fast.”
Sara was surprised. “How can light be both a wave and a particle?”
Lumi smiled. “That is one of nature’s greatest mysteries. Light changes how it behaves depending on how we observe it. Sometimes it acts like a wave, and sometimes it acts like a particle.”
To demonstrate, Lumi shined a beam of light through two tiny openings. On a screen behind them appeared a beautiful pattern of bright and dark lines.

Sara's eyes widened with wonder.
As they traveled farther, they rode on a photon racing through space. They passed planets, stars, and galaxies.
